Enrichment Activities

The school provides an extensive range of extra-curricular activities for pupils. This range of opportunities includes:

Y12 Induction Programme
We appreciate that Transition from KS4 to KS5 comes with its own challenges for many young people and therefore, at the start of Year 12, all students participate in a two-day Induction Programme designed to prepare them for the demands and opportunities of Sixth Form study. The programme equips students with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to succeed academically, develop independence, and plan effectively for their post-18 pathways. Key Components: Flipped Learning: Introduction to the flipped learning approach, including how to prepare for lessons in advance and maximise in-class learning. Independent Study: Guidance on managing independent study time effectively, including creating schedules, setting goals, and developing self-discipline. Study Skills: Practical sessions on note-taking, revision techniques, time management, and critical thinking strategies. Post-18 Programme: Overview of options and preparation for life after Sixth Form, including higher education, apprenticeships, and employment pathways. Unifrog: Training on using Unifrog, the online platform for exploring careers, university courses, apprenticeships, and recording achievements. VESPA: Training students on how to self-evaluate their approach, effort and strategies during their KS5 journey and thereafter, react or seek guidance accordingly The Induction Programme ensures that all students start Year 12 with a clear understanding of expectations, essential skills, and the tools they need to succeed academically and personally, and provides them with a clear and well supported transition.
Senior Ambassadors
Our Senior Ambassadors play an integral role in representing the values and ethos of our Sixth Form. They act as leaders, mentors, and role models, supporting both their peers and younger students across the school community. Each Ambassador contributes through a range of specialised roles designed to promote leadership, service, and collaboration.
Sports Ambassadors
Work alongside the PE Department to plan, organise, and deliver sporting events, encouraging participation and teamwork across the school community.
Chaplaincy Ambassadors
Work alongside the Director of Catholic Life to plan, organise, and support with various events, encouraging participation in supporting the community and to enhance their understanding of what it means to be a good Catholic leader.
Peer Mentors
Receive specialised training to work 1:1 with younger students, offering guidance, encouragement, and support with both academic and personal development.
Breakfast Club
Year 12 students support breakfast club for younger students and help with breaktime duties alongside staff. These activities strengthen community spirit and enhance students’ interpersonal skills.
Peer Educators
Undertake nine hours of accredited training, overseen by the Mental Health Foundation, enabling them to confidently deliver six Mental Health lessons to our Year 7 students, promoting awareness and wellbeing across the school.
Clubs and Societies
Lead, organise, and promote a variety of clubs and enrichment activities for both Sixth Formers and younger students. Examples include the Debate Club, Chess Club, Medical Society, Law Society, and a range of sporting clubs.
Working Parties
Collaborate with younger year groups to identify areas for improvement and implement meaningful initiatives that positively impact the lives of students and staff.
Becoming a Senior Ambassador
Senior Ambassadors are selected for their leadership potential, commitment to the school community, and ability to embody the values of respect, responsibility, and resilience. The programme provides valuable opportunities to develop communication, teamwork, and organisational skills that will benefit students in higher education and future careers. The Senior Ambassador roles ensures that our Sixth Form students leave not only academically prepared but also confident, responsible, and socially engaged individuals ready to make a difference.
Reading Ambassadors
Support literacy development by reading to and with our Year 7 students on a weekly basis, helping to foster a lifelong love of reading.
Faith in Action
Every student participates in our “Faith in Action” programme, supporting local and school communities. Opportunities include paired reading schemes, classroom support, and acting as guides at Open Evenings and Open Mornings. These experiences foster empathy, communication, and teamwork while enriching our school community.
