Welcome to Upton Hall School FCJ
Welcome to our Sixth Form. As the Sixth Form Leadership Team we are incredibly proud of our dynamic and forward-looking Sixth Form, which offers a wide choice of subjects as well as excellent individual pupil support to ensure that all students achieve their potential.
Our rich academic programme is supplemented by additional academic, spiritual and extra-curricular activities.
First class interview preparation is organised with our team of specialist Higher Education interviewers. Intensive preparation for Oxford and Cambridge applicants, as well as candidates for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine is also arranged. Close pastoral support is provided by the Director and Deputy Director of Sixth Form along with the Sixth Form Tutorial Team. Whilst the vast majority of our students progress to University, we pride ourselves on the extensive support offered to students who would rather pursue alternatives to university – our students have a strong track record in securing the very best apprenticeships and school leaver schemes in the North West and beyond.
Individual careers support is available throughout the Sixth Form and work experience opportunities are individually tailored to support career aspirations. We regularly invite industry specialists and university representatives to speak to our students to provide them with rich insights into the world of industry and academia.
The social life in the Sixth Form is stimulating and varied with a variety of activities organised for lunchtime and after school. Trips abroad, community service, debating, participating in the Sports Leaders Award Scheme and the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award, Bar Mock Trial Competition, orchestra, and choir are just some of the activities currently undertaken by our Sixth Form students.
Life in the Sixth Form concludes with two popular events, the 'Going Down Mass' and the 'Leavers’ Ball'. An excellent service is provided on results day to ensure that our students obtain places at appropriate universities.
