Outwood Academy Valley

Post 16 students are encouraged to participate in ensembles, performances and productions at either of the two secondary schools (Outwood Academy Portland or Outwood Academy Valley) where they can showcase their talents and get involved in a rich calendar of performance related activities which play an important role in our academy’s vibrant arts culture for example, music festivals, County Youth Arts and various dance projects throughout the year.

The academy offers a variety of ways to get involved in sport either competitively, or for pleasure to keep fit.

Are you someone who gains satisfaction from helping others? If so there are lots of ways you can engage with the community and involve yourself in charitable activities. Our students are encouraged to raise awareness of causes and organise ways to raise funds for our agreed charities. It's an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the community, whilst gaining vital experience and increasing your employability skills for the future.

For the hundreds of thousands of young people who take part each year, the benefits of achieving a DofE Award at any level are endless. DofE is about helping our students along the path to a productive and prosperous future. Many of our students say it’s life-changing.
