Welcome to St John Plessington Catholic College

Our Sixth Form students are a credit to themselves, their families and our school community. They make and invaluable contribution to the college. We have a student-centred approach to all we do. We are totally committed to providing the very best education we can offer, not just academic but also extra-curricular. We offer not only first class facilities but also an enhanced curriculum that should provide a pathway for all students. We feel that as our Sixth Form grows, everyone should have the opportunity to study here and hopefully this is reflected in the wide range of courses on offer. If you are a current student at St John Plessington or St Mary’s Catholic College, you will already know that the staff here will go that extra mile for you Sixth Form life is very different. You will be given greater privileges and responsibilities, both for your own formation and the well-being of others. You will be taught in smaller groups, have more self-directed study time and will work towards becoming a highly successful, capable and independent learner, ready to tackle the challenges of life after SJP/St Mary’s. Those new to our Sixth Form are welcomed with open arms, make new friends quickly and benefit from all that SJP/St Mary’s has to offer. We also benefit from the experience you bring with you and together we shape the best future. Throughout your time with us you will receive the very best pastoral and academic support possible. Sixth Form whilst challenging and worthwhile, preparing you for life at university and the workplace, also has to be enjoyable.
