Welcome to The JCB Academy

The JCB Academy Sixth Form in Rocester, Staffordshire, specialises in engineering and business education. We offer STEM-focused A Levels alongside comprehensive technical pathways, including the T Level in Engineering and a range of BTEC qualifications in both subject areas. Our BTEC options are available at three levels – Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Extended Diploma, and Level 3 Certificate – providing flexible routes to suit each learner’s career aspirations.We offer a specialist post-16 curriculum designed to prepare learners for higher education and skilled careers. Our A-Level subjects include Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Product Design, which are tailored to complement our technical qualifications. In addition to A-Levels, we provide the T Level in Engineering, alongside our BTEC qualifications in Engineering and Business. These include the Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Extended Diploma, and Level 3 Certificate, ensuring a range of pathways to suit individual learner ambitions.

Isabel FitzGerald

September 2014

Apprenticeship

Isabel joined the academy in 2014 continuing her education in our sixth form studying A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with an AS Level in Further Mathematics. Isabel went on to do a Manufacturing Management Degree Apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce and as part of her apprenticeship, studies part-time for a Master’s degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick.

Phoebe Jay

September 2010

Apprenticeship

Phoebe joined the academy in 2010 continuing her education in our sixth form studying Engineering, English Literature, and Biology. Phoebe went on to do an Advanced Apprenticeship at Bentley Motors in the Paintshop and now works in Manufacturing Projects. She won Bentley Motors Apprentice of the year in 2018. Within her current role, she integrates bespoke cars and limited editions into manufacturing.Phoebe joined the academy in 2010 continuing her education in our sixth form studying Engineering, English Literature, and Biology. Ella Pilsworth

September 2010

University

Ella joined the academy in 2010 continuing her education in our sixth form studying Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics and EPQ. Ella went on to study Bioengineering at the University of Sheffield, followed by a Graduate Scheme with Depuy Synthes as a Bioengineer.

These partners include: Toyota, RAF Cosford, JCB, Bosch Rexroth, Barclays Bank and Fujitsu. Learners experience numerous challenges that are specifically linked to real-world problems
Overseas Trips
Learners have some fantastic opportunities to visit countries all over the world. In the last couple of years we’ve taken learners to: India, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, France, Sri Lanka and Austria
Work Experience Placements
Inspirational Visits
We pride ourselves on our partnership building with businesses and individuals. Our learners get the opportunity to meet a host a visitors that come in to speak and inspire them. In the last year alone we’ve had the most successful sailor in Olympic history, Sir Ben Ainslie, F1 Driver, Lance Stroll and motorcycle racer and a television personality Guy Martin
