Pupil engage in a number of volunteering opportunities both in and out of the community. This may include litter picking, assisting with lessons as a teaching assistant or mentoring younger students.

This is a prestigious award that
provides pupils with the opportunity to develop their leadership and teamwork skills, as well as
their resilience and organisation. This is an impressive accolade to add to their CV and will be a
huge draw for potential employers. The award takes real commitment and pupils will be
expected to attend several after-school training sessions beforehand. Pupils will also have to
complete the different sections of the award.

Overview
Students will identify, design, plan and complete an individual project separate from any of the subjects they currently
study.

Assessment
This project involves an essay (dependent on the topic), presentation and a logbook.

AQA Level 3 Core Maths is designed to enhance mathematical skills and understanding, providing a valuable
qualification that supports further education and real-world applications. Content includes: analysis of data, maths for
personal finance, critical analysis of data and models and statistics.

Career Progression
Core Maths will support progression in many fields where confidence working with numbers is key.

Assessment
Assessment consists of 2 papers of equal weighting.
Candidates will sit 2 90 minute papers worth 60 marks each.
Paper 1 and paper 2 are calculator papers.
