Welcome to St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy
Hello and welcome to our Sixth Form website which we hope answers all the questions and queries you may have.Saint John Fisher Sixth Form is a college offering a Level 3 curriculum comprising of mainly A Levels, but with an ever changing and developing range of vocational courses to meet the needs of all of our students. The details of these can be found on our ‘Courses’ page, and if you need further details please do contact us.As a Catholic Sixth Form, we are unapologetic about the fact that we place Christ at the centre of all that we do. This means that our approach is one of acceptance, forgiveness and love, all based around our values and Christian virtues. Because of this we believe everyone is made in God’s image and we welcome people of all faiths and none to our community. All students will have the opportunity to develop their own spirituality and faith and we offer a wide-range of experiences inside and outside of school to embed this within our identity as an institution.Within our Sixth Form we have three core principles that we believe set us apart from other providers of post-16 education in our area. These are support, opportunities and community. We take great pride in the caring and personalised level of support that we can offer to all of our students given the fact that we are smaller and more close-knit than many of our neighbours across Kirklees. At Saint John Fisher we also offer a plethora of meaningful and enriching opportunities for the holistic development of every student, whether this is academic, personal, cultural, spiritual or an insight into future careers and prospects. As a school-based Sixth Form we also naturally have a great bond as a community, but all those joining us in Year 12 are equally welcomed and seen as part of the ‘Fisher's family’ very quickly. We have recently had a ‘relaunch’ of the Sixth Form which has included the introduction of new staffing, leadership, student opportunities and a selection of courses to be introduced that are either new to the school or haven’t been on offer in recent years. This investment gives everyone hope for the future of our provision and all that we can offer to our local community. If you would like to know more, please do get in touch. We welcome all enquires and you’re more than welcome to come and see for yourself all that we do on a daily basis.Mr Stephen SykesDirector of Sixth Form
