Apprenticeship
Summer studied an Extended Certificate in Engineering, along with A-Levels in Maths and Physics. She actively participated in various employer engagement events, such as Celebrating Engineering Week, National Apprenticeship Week, and British Science Week. In 2021, she won the BMW Girls Go Technical national competition, and in 2024, she completed the Atkins Earth 2.0 STEM Challenge. Summer gained valuable work experience with Arup and Couch Perry Wilkes, which helped her explore different facets of engineering. She also attended future engineering seminars with BMW and National Grid and received unanimous praise from Arup, AtkinsRealis, and Balfour Beatty VINCI during the STAR interview workshop. Her next step is a Degree Apprenticeship with Arcadis. Reflecting on her time at WMG Solihull, Summer said, “Staff are really supportive and have given me loads of opportunities.
