Norlington Sixth Form provided a supportive and close-knit environment for me to comfortably study and learn in.

When I started sixth form, I didn't know what I wanted to do in life, but my teachers and other staff helped me to figure out what avenues I had available to me and pushed me to aim high. I am doing really well at University.

Norlington 6th form was a really unique experience. They really tailored the 6th form to focus on achieving our goals and having success. Great memories were made whilst studying which made my 2 years there very enjoyable.

Coming from Norlington really helped me get into my desired course; Architecture at LSBU. The 6th form managed to help on key things such as educating us on Student finance, living away from home and really helped us with our personal statements. Without all this, I would have gone to uni with not a lot of confidence on how things would work out.

Norlington was an amazing environment to be in for my A-Levels. The attention to detail of all the staff and the support provided by the school were key to me achieving my grades!

I am currently a second year medical students at Bart’s and I found that the opportunities provided by the school such as trips to various universities, as well as various talks with many professionals, allowed me to be confident about my choice to commit to a career in medicine.

Norlington was more than a school it was a second home, I couldn’t see myself anywhere else but there

I am currently studying towards a degree and the skills I have developed, the confidence I have gained and then experiences I’ve had all continue to sipper me in my course. A huge part of that foundation came from my time in sixth form, where I was surrounded by incredibly supportive and motivating teachers. They constantly encouraged me to stick to my goals, and whenever I had questions or needed guidance, they were always there to help. Their dedication made a real difference- not only in my academic journey but also in how much I enjoyed coming in each day. Sixth form never felt like a chore; it was a place where I could grow, learn, and have fun. I truly miss it. My advice to any student studying here is that make sure you balance your time and don’t cram everything at the end, see each day as an opportunity to do and be better and just stay positive. You might now say I want to leave, but you will miss it and if you don’t try your best you may regret it.

Politics and International Relations

Norlington 6th form has helped me find my unique selling point and passion that sets me apart from the crowd: public speaking. I use this passion and the leadership experiences I had gained to drive me to pursue more leadership opportunities and showcase my public speaking to the community.

I am currently studying Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary, having joined many societies including Debate, Model UN and Diplomacy Society. I am running for course rep and have just performed an unforgettable public speech in front of my cohort that has spread my influence to the community that will help me in pursuing future leadership roles at the university.

The whole LSBU community has been a great support in my career so far. I’m still in close touch with the Student Enterprise team … they have provided invaluable business advice and mentorship during and beyond my studies. Being an LSBU alumnus means I have the support of the university no matter what I apply myself to beyond its walls. LSBU’s course and enterprise support helped me gain practical experience  and the business/mentoring support that resulted into me getting into a sustainable company
