Welcome to The Ladder School

At The Ladder School we offer a slightly different Sixth Form experience to that of other educational establishments. Our class sizes are very small (with at least 2 members of staff) and so you will get extra help and support in all your lessons. Additionally, you will be assigned a Learning Coach who will meet with you regularly to ensure you are getting the most out of your studies and who will provide any additional pastoral support you may need. We pride ourselves on our personal approach to teaching and supporting students. The study programme you will follow invests in providing a choice of Level 2 Vocational Courses, Skills Lessons alongside Maths and English GCSE retakes allowing you to secure a balanced curriculum overall. Specific strategies to support students with SEND are provided by the school’s SENDCo throughout the year. Every student with identified SEND has a personalised package of support, providing guidance to enable them to succeed in school. Additionally, you will benefit from a work placement one day a week.Overall, this curriculum ensures you have the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding which will provide you with a route through education that has clear progression pathways into employment, further study or an apprenticeship. At The Ladder School we offer a slightly different Sixth Form experience to that of other educational establishments. Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
We expect that all students enrich their learning beyond the classroom. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These extend students learning and social experiences and are linked to work done in the classroom. Most importantly employers are significant adults in the lives of students at the Ladder School and their input shapes both the school’s curriculum and the bespoke experiences of each individual student.
