Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Students are given opportunities to develop their leadership skills. They can develop their skills through becoming school leaders, wellbeing leaders and taking part in activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award as well as our curriculum offer.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
A DofE award recognises qualities such as reliability, commitment, decision-making, planning, communication, leadership, resilience and the ability to work as part of a team. These outcomes are valued by employers and educational establishments. This course will involve four main sections including volunteering, physical, skills and expedition. For the volunteering, physical and skills section, this can be achieved during timetabled enterprise/during school classes where appropriate. Students can also achieve these outside of school if they attend sport clubs or volunteer work. Students will enjoy new experiences and take part in new and exciting challenges and to make a difference to other people’s lives and their community through the volunteering section. They will also learn about being healthier by taking part in a physical activity for a set period of time.
Trips and Visits
Alongside our classroom curriculum, we offer enrichment opportunities and out of hours learning. We arrange trips to cement learning that help students learn important life skills, develop cultural capital and ground learned concepts in a real-life context
Sports
Physical development is so important to all Oak Lodge students, and our sports facilities enable us to provide ample opportunity for exercise and sporting achievement
