Welcome to Kisharon School

Welcome to Kisharon Noé School.

I am immensely proud to be part of a team of dedicated professionals who are warm, caring, and have an unwavering belief in the transformative power of education for young people with Special Needs, Disabilities, and Autism. We all share a mission to empower our young people to push boundaries and ensure fulfilment throughout their educational journey and beyond.

Having dedicated 7 years to Kisharon School, first as a class teacher and later as Deputy Headteacher, I have witnessed its evolution into a remarkable institution with a brand-new building and expanded educational offer. The process has filled me with immense pride. Now, as I step into the role of Headteacher as my first headship, I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead this exceptional school community. Kisharon School stands as a beacon of support and opportunity for children with special needs in the Jewish community and beyond, and being a part of both the school and this community fills me with profound pride.

At Kisharon, we are passionate about innovative and creative ways to deliver meaningful learning experiences to our pupils. We offer a range of academic and enrichment activities, underpinned by our Jewish Ethos and enhanced by our therapeutic provision. We believe that pupils start learning as soon as they walk through the doors and do not stop until they are home at the end of the day.

Kisharon School is entering an exciting period of time. We have recently joined the Kisharon Langdon Education Partnership, led by our previous headteacher, Dr. Emily Haddock, who is the Director of Education. This will offer our pupils the opportunity for further experiences that surround their school life and benefit from the expertise of professionals that work across different settings. We look forward to collaborating with our partners to strengthen and enhance the curriculum that we offer.

I am so proud of how inclusive Kisharon School is. We celebrate our Jewish ethos and weave it through our everyday lives, while we also welcome those of all faiths and none into our community. From organising our secular learning to fit around the themes of the Jewish calendar, to whole school Jewish life events as well as fantastic Kodesh and Religious Education opportunities, we strive for inclusivity and accessibility for our whole school community.

All of our pupils have moderate to severe learning disabilities; some also have an autistic spectrum disorder, epilepsy, a physical disability, sensory impairment, medical needs, and/or a communication impairment. However, we do not see this as a limitation to the fantastic learning opportunities that we can offer. We have an aspirational curriculum, offering our pupils, aged 4-19 and of all ability ranges, the opportunity to access high-quality teaching and learning based on the National Curriculum. Our curriculum is adaptive and can be highly personalised so that each child can excel in their areas of strength, learn new skills, and be prepared for life after school.

I hope that you find our website informative and engaging.

Kind Regards,

Adina Collins
