Extra-curricular
At Queen Mary’s College, life goes beyond the classroom doors. Through our wealth of enrichment opportunities we encourage each student to be busy, to get involved with others, deepen existing interests and to explore new ones too. All students are encouraged to undertake Enrichment as part of their study programme, and we genuinely believe that you will struggle to choose from the opportunities available!
Developing your skill and experience in caring for others, our environment, charities or sharing subject knowledge to support other learners, for example, Maths SYMPLfiers and GCSE Peer Mentoring. Supports applications into higher education and employment.
The range of sport and physical activity available to participate in at College is huge. Whether you’re a team player, individual sportsman, or want to get involved for fitness, emotional and/or wellbeing reasons, there is something for you to try.
You have the chance to work with playwrights from the National Theatre. The aim is to write your own 30 minute play about the challenging issues that matter to you. This is an opportunity to explore your talent, sharpen your approach to research, develop and articulate ideas on key ethical questions and dilemma. The course should support and encourage a lifelong enthusiasm for theatre and an understanding of the power of theatre to engage audiences in serious debate. The course supports the development of transferable skills for employment and further study; including self-management, team working, communication and literacy skills, problem solving, and critical engagement with your chosen subject material.
