Welcome to Chew Valley School
Welcome To Chew Valley School
Chew Valley School is founded on a commitment to enable all of our students to learn, grow and achieve. Many people who visit us comment on the fact that the school is about developing the 'whole student' who is ready to play a confident role in the world. I believe this is achieved through our student-centred and personalised approach where the individual student lies at the heart of everything we do. Students take on key leadership roles throughout their time with us, there are many opportunities to get involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities and develop skills in leadership and teamwork. The school is rightly proud of its students and their achievements and we look to continue to provide an environment where they are stimulated and supported in equal measure.
We welcome visits from new parents and carers on any school day where we are able to show you around our school. Please call the school office to make an appointment.

Enrichment Activities
Show all activitiesOutdoor education is one of our passions at Chew Valley. The opportunities are unrivalled with students being able to take part in the legendary Ten Tors, undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award or go on one of our overseas visits. Our staff give up their weekends throughout the year to help students train and prepare for expeditions. It is a touchstone for the community nature of our school.
A mental health charity called Off the Record, train sixth form students in listening skills to help them mentor y7 and 8 students lower down in school.
An independent research task that involves you either writing an extended essay of about 5,000 words or creating a product with an accompanying shorter essay of about 1,000 words. The project develops essential research and extended writing skills required during University courses.
