Extra-curricular

At Harris Academy Wimbledon, we believe all children deserve a well-rounded, culturally rich, education. The enrichment curriculum plays a crucial part in achieving this objective. The purpose of the enrichment curriculum is to provide a broad range of opportunities to learn and develop outside of the classroom. These opportunities foster professional skills such as resilience, active listening, confidence, self-esteem and teamwork. Coupled with the growth of interests and enthusiasm for passions beyond the classroom.
Educational Visits

At HAWI our students have the opportunity to take part in many educational visits We have a number of co-curricular visits that are outside of the curriculum, but inspire and motivate our students further, by giving them even more memorable experiences.

Duke of Edinburgh Award (Gold)

The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is a life-changing experience. It is an opportunity to set personal challenges and push boundaries, developing children's independence and self-esteem. It is an internationally recognised mark of achievement and respected by colleges, universities and employers.

Student Leadership

We know that many of our students have passionate views about their academy, their place within it, and indeed about the world beyond the academy. We want those passions to have a voice. We also know that many of our students have real leadership talents, and others are always looking for ways to develop their leadership skills. We want our students to believe, as we do, that democracy and the democratic process is the best way to get their voices heard, and their ideas put into action.
