Welcome to Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst
As a Sixth Form, our vision is clear, our vision is Forward. This pays homage to the motto which appeared on Birmingham’s very first coat of arms in 1839, but also represents our modern, successful Sixth Form at Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst. We adapt to the pastoral and educational needs of our students, working with them and their families to help them succeed and move forward to their next destination successfully.Having been established as a Sixth Form centre within the North Solihull area for over twenty-five years, we take great pride in what we do and the experience that we offer to our students. We are delighted to deliver a well-respected and broad range of Level 3 qualifications that comprise of both an A Level and BTEC qualification route.I am proud of the opportunities our students have taken to move forward in recent years to a wide range of courses, qualifications and destinations. On completion of their studies, our students have gone into top apprenticeships, universities (including those in the Russell Group), and into employment. This success is possible because of the highly personalised support and guidance offered to every student throughout their time with us. We care about the whole student, including their well-being, health, social development and academic achievements. As the sixth form continues to grow and develop as a centre, it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the Sixth Form Team of professionals that are primarily responsible for supporting Year 12 and 13 learners. In addition to myself as College Leader for the Sixth Form, Mrs Lowe is the Head of Sixth Form, Miss Nazrul is the Assistant College Leader and Mrs Ali remains our invaluable Sixth Form Administrator. We work closely with Mrs Robinson as the Trust Lead for Careers and Mrs Cunningham as the specialist in post-18 careers options. This team works in conjunction with our highly skilled tutors, Dr Ishchenko, Ms Hartshorns and Ms Arfan, as well as our passionate subject teachers to ensure the best outcomes for all students. We are extremely proud of our students and how they behave, support other members of the academy and demonstrate a desire to work hard. When students complete their time here with us, not only do they progress and achieve well, but they also possess the resilience and skills to ensure that they are fully prepared to move forward and face the rigours of a modern world. Opportunities open to our students in recent years have included peer mentoring, leading on student voice as Head Students, attending university summer schools, undertaking work experience, participation in taster days with FTSE 100 companies and foreign trips to places as diverse as New York or skiing in Italy.Thank you for taking the time to read about our Sixth Form, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
