Preparing for the next steps and adulthood is what Post 16 life is all about, and our varied curriculum and fantastic enrichment opportunities are designed to ensure that everyone realises their potential. We are proud of our broad range of opportunities for work experience, which are a key feature throughout all the learning pathways, focusing on empowering all students to personally grow and develop.Post 16 offers three main learning pathways that support learning at differing levels, endless opportunities for growth whilst providing an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. At OMS Post 16, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals. Whilst academically following the Preparing for Adulthood curriculum, we help to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility towards themselves and others. We understand that the transition to Sixth Form can be both exciting and challenging. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff are here to guide and support each individual every step of the way, ensuring that they have the resources and assistance that is needed to thrive. We are committed to helping each student achieve their full potential and pursue their aspirations. Whether you are aiming for voluntary work, paid employment, internships or apprenticeships, we provide the guidance and support necessary to help each person reach their goals. At every stage, we are here to listen, advise and support you in your choices. We’ll support you – whatever your needs, we don’t want anything to come between you and your ambitions. In Post 16, our ultimate goal is to secure all our students a destination which will lead them on to a promising career in the future and to be as independent as possible. This may mean that they will learn the skills to go on and access a course specific to their main vocational interest at a post 19 provision or straight into adulthood, and access some form of meaningful employment.
