A wide range of courses are available which provide successful routes into university, apprenticeships and employment.Our established and very successful Sixth Form partnership with Allt Hirn High School allows us to offer a wider range of A Level courses.The relationships between staff and students in our Sixth Form are the key to making our Sixth Form work. Students are treated as individuals who have a variety of needs. Our pastoral system is designed to meet those needs and help all students achieve their potential and develop their talents.As a Sixth Form student you will receive excellent pastoral support from a dedicated team of specialist Sixth Form learning coaches. You will be provided with individual support and guidance from people who care for your needs. Working in the Sixth Form study area you will be allocated time during academic review which will include individual interviews with tutors as required along with A Level Mindset and wellbeing sessions. This time will also be used to discuss your progress in Sixth Form and strategies that you can use to improve your own learning.The Sixth Form team will guide you through your UCAS application in Year 13 and spend time with you working on your personal statement. They will also support you as you research and identify the next steps in your chosen pathway.Sixth Form years are important in terms of your development as an individual. There are numerous opportunities for personal development at St Richard Gwyn Sixth Form. There are many opportunities for community participation and volunteering which include:Mentoring younger students in Reading/MathematicsCitizenship – becoming a peer educatorCharity – taking part in local fundraising activitiesLeadership – Head Boy/Girl, School Leadership Team, House Captains, School CouncilTracy JonesHead of Sixth Form
