Welcome to Notre Dame Catholic Academy

Notre Dame Catholic Academy believes in lifelong learning and actively encourages all students to continue education and training beyond 16 in order to prepare them for a place in Further or Higher Education and eventually the world of work and the responsibilities of adult life.

Hard work will be essential if you are to be successful and you will receive excellent tuition and pastoral support from staff at our Sixth Form. We are rightly proud of not only our academic results and outstanding curriculum and teaching but also the support and encouragement our staff provide for the students in their care.

Much success is due to the quality of teaching and learning and hard work of staff, who know the students well and are able to offer individual support and guidance. Students are well supported in their applications to university, academy or employment. It is our aim to provide the best educational opportunities, both academically, and in the wider sense of developing the whole person.

We aim to create a friendly, safe, and supportive environment where our students enjoy an excellent standard of teaching, access to a wide and challenging choice of courses, and the guidance needed to ensure success. We encourage our students to continue into higher education, training, or employment and support them whilst they are with us to make the best possible choices and decisions for their future.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
At Notre Dame all students are encouraged to develop skills outside of their academic study which will enrich your applications for university or the world of work. This nonqualification activity is in place to help you to develop the skills which organisations are looking for in future employees.

Charity Activities

Our Sixth Form students are invited to work with our Academy Chaplain, Miss Wall and participate in our Faith in Action Awards. This award gives you the opportunity to explore your faith, support charitable activities both in Academy and in the community and to provide support to lower school students who are completing their own element of the Faith in Action Awards.

NCS & DofE

Many of our Sixth Form students take the opportunity to participate in National Citizen Service activities and / or the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, both of which offer enriching and exciting experiences, team building exercises and opportunities to form new friendships and connections!

Trips, Speakers, Workshops and Skills Development

Our Sixth Form students benefit from inspirational trips related to your specific courses. To support your progression into Higher Education and Employment, we host many workshops and visiting speakers from UCAS, Higher Education providers, as well as employers and apprenticeship providers. We host visiting speakers relating to the various courses we offer as well as industry professionals who provide an insight into various career pathways.
