Course summary
Ever wonder if prison really does change criminal behavior? Or why do some people conform? Or perhaps if the experiences you had before the age of 5 really do shape the person you are today? A level of Psychology will give you an understanding of the way people think and why people behave in certain ways. You will learn a variety of skills including analytical thinking, improved communication, and problem-solving. In Year 12 you will cover the following topics: - Social Influence - Memory - Attachment - Approaches in Psychology - Psychopathology - Research methods In Year 13 you will study: - Biopsychology - Research methods - Issues and debates in Psychology - Relationships - Forensic Psychology - Schizophrenia Students will also undertake experimental work related to Psychology, applying the work from the research methods topic. Students will also visit Freud’s house and attend a conference of the course.
