Why study this course? Biology is the study of living organisms and how they interact with each other and their environments. Biology is a multidisciplinary subject that is made of many different and interdependent fields, covers a broad range of topics, and has aspects to interest a wide range of students. It is a pre-requisite subject for many degrees in Biological Science and science-related fields of study. What interests should you have? An interest in the finer details of how life works and interacts from the smallest cells to global relationships. What will the course cover? Biological molecules, cells, organisms and their behavior, relationships, and energy transfer between them, genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems, and the control of gene expression.
