Course summary
This A-Level course is split between coursework and one externally set practical exam. Students will be taught how to use a DSLR camera and develop an understanding of how to process and capture images in manual mode. They will learn key skills and techniques such as aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, depths of field, painting with light, panning, rule of thirds, Adobe Suite and RAW post-production. They will also have the opportunity to explore contextual studies from a wide range of historical and contemporary sources. Students will be expected to work independently to develop a concept and choose certain photographic techniques to specialise in.
