Course summary

Unit 1: Changing Awareness of Crime: How we can differentiate between myth and reality when it comes to crime, and understand the importance of changing public perceptions of crime. Unit 2: Criminological Theories Different theoretical explanations of crime and how to understand the behaviour of a specific crime or criminal. Unit 3: Crime Scene to Courtroom The development of the skills needed to review criminal cases, evaluating the evidence to determine whether the verdict is safe and just. Unit 4: Crime and Punishment The consequences to those who violate our legal system and how they are punished within the criminal justice system in England and Wales.
