Course summary
Physics A-level will allow you to explore the fundamental nature of almost everything we know about. It probes the furthest reaches of the earth to study the smallest pieces of matter and a world deep beneath the surface of normal human experience. Possible degree options: Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Economics, Business. Possible future careers: Geophysicist/Field Seismologist, Healthcare Scientist, Medical Physics, Higher Education Lecturer, Radiation Protection Practitioner, Research Scientist (Physical Sciences), Scientific Laboratory Technician, Secondary School Teacher, Meteorologist, Structural Engineer, Acoustic Engineer, Product/Process Development Scientist, Systems Developer, Technical Author. You can also move into Engineering, Astrophysics, Chemical Physics, Nanotechnology, renewable energy and more, the opportunities are endless. We have great new facilities at Kineton High School which you can take full advantage of during your A-Level studies. There are 3 teachers so you can access different teaching styles. There is lots of support available for you over the 2 years to ensure you get the best possible grade. The Physics department also provide the opportunity to take part in the Engineering Education Scheme which is a 6 month EDT Programme that links teams of Year 12 students and their teacher with local companies where they work on real, scientific, engineering and technology projects. The scheme provides students with an in-depth experience in science, engineering and technology that will enable them to make an informed decision about their future studies and career.
