This is a linear course, therefore there are no single units. The structure of the course is a mix of pure mathematics and applications of mathematics. The pure maths units cover topics such as algebra, graphs, calculus, and trigonometry. The applied units will include mechanics and statistics. What could I do next? A qualification in A Level maths will open up a number of potential opportunities to you within medicine, engineering, finance, architecture and computer science to name a few. At least five GCSE passes or equivalent in five different subjects. Students wishing to study A-level maths should achieve a grade 7 or above in GCSE Maths.
This is a linear course and therefore, there will be no single units; all examinations will be taken at the end of the course. The course is assessed by three exams at the end of Year 13. All papers are two hours long. Papers 1 and 2 cover the pure mathematics course content while Paper 3 will test your knowledge on statistics and mechanics.
