The study of English literature is the study of how we engage and think about our world. The study of literature is the study of culture, history, human relationships, and the history of ideas. The OCR A Level in English Literature allows learners to undertake independent and sustained studies to deepen their appreciation and understanding of literature, including its changing traditions. You must engage with ideas in the subject matter and explore how they are presented. Enthusiastic involvement in discussion is essential, as is the ability to retain the individuality of ideas and recognize the role of literature in creating differing opinions and thoughts.
