Assessment

Students will study 4 mandatory units: Unit 1 – Information Technology Systems Unit 2 – Creating Systems to Manage Information Unit 3 – Using Social Media in Business Unit 4 – Programming Unit 1 and Unit 2 are both externally assessed units. For Unit 1 students are expected to complete a written examination worth 90 marks. Unit 2 is a supervised assessment that is required to be completed in a 1 week window timetabled by Pearsons. The unit is worth 66 marks. Unit 3 and Unit 4 are mandatory units that will be internally assessed by the lead internal verifier. For the remainder of the course 2 internally assessed coursework based units will be offered from the list below: Unit 5- Data Modelling Unit 6- Website Development Unit 7 – Mobile Apps Development Unit 8 – Computer Games Development
