Assessment

Throughout the two year course, students will be taught through a combination of activities, class discussions, student lead presentations, private study, independent learning, use of IT and experimental and investigative work. At the end of this, students will sit three exam papers which will assess all they have learnt over the course. Paper 1 - Examination paper; 76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions. 15 marks: extended response question. Paper 2 - Examination paper; 76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions. 15 marks: comprehension question. Paper 3 - Examination paper; 38 marks: structured questions, including practical techniques. 15 mark: critical analysis of given experimental data. 25 mark: essay from a choice of two titles.
