Paper 1 Breadth study with interpretations Worth 30% final of A2 grade : Exam in June, 2 hours 15 minutes. Answer 3 questions: • Part A and B questions based on breadth of knowledge. • Part C question based on analysis of historical interpretations. Paper 2 Depth Study Worth 20% of final A2 grade: 90 minute exam in June. Answer 2 questions: • Part A - compulsory source question • Part B - choice of essay question to test knowledge and understanding. Paper 3 Themes in breadth with aspects in depth Worth 30% of final A2 grade: Exam in June, 2 hours 15 minutes. Answer 3 questions: • Part A – compulsory source question • Parts B and C – optional essay questions. Course work Worth 20% of final A2 grade: Students carry out an independently-researched enquiry requiring them to evaluate and analyse historical interpretations and to organise and communicate findings.
