Course summary
Students will study: - The Crusades c.1095-1204 - Anglo-Saxon England and the Anglo-Norman Conquest c.1053-1106 -2The witch craze in Britain, Europe and North America, c.1580-1750. Coursework: The organisation of the Nazi Party The lessons include a variety of activities including group work, independent research, essay writing and group presentations. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning through self and peer-assessment. The course will develop a range of skills including the ability to communicate to audience, the ability to write extended and balanced arguments, the ability to conduct independent research and finally the ability to critically analyse a range of sources. A level History will provide ideal preparation for graduate studies in Politics, Law, Journalism, TV/Media, as well as more obvious fields such as Archaeology, Archivist and Teaching. The course will appeal to students who are: • Highly motivated and fascinated by past events; • Seeking to understand why past events happened and how they relate to current society; • Keen to develop skills of communication, explanation, weighing up arguments, analysing sources and making judgments.
