Assessment

There is no coursework on this course. However, your performance during practicals will be assessed. You will sit three examinations: • Paper 1 (Biological Molecules, Cells, Exchange, Variation), 2hr written exam, 35% of the A level, a mixture of short and long answer questions, and some extended response questions. • Paper 2 (Energy transfers, Response to change, Genetics, Controlling gene expression), 2hr written exam, 35% of the A Level, a mixture of short and long answer questions, and a comprehension question. • Paper 3 (All content), 2hr written exam, 30% of the A level, structured questions, including practical techniques, critical analysis of given experimental data, and one essay from a choice of two titles.
