Unit 1 (35%) 2 hour paper requiring structured responses with a short essay style response for all four topics Unit 2 (15%) 1 hour paper requiring short structured responses based on topics covered in Unit 1. Remaining questions relate to techniques developed on the field course Unit 3 (30%) Paper of 2 hours 30 minutes based on structured responses for one of the physical and human topics with an extended essay for a third topic Unit 4 (20%) Paper of 1 hour 30 minutes involving structured responses to questions based on fieldwork theory, data collection and analysis from the individual coursework usually based on data collected in the Lake District.
