Course summary

Economics is a fascinating and forever-changing subject. The A-Level is a rigorous and demanding course, enabling students to apply Economic theory to support analysis of current economic problems and issues, as well as encouraging students to appreciate the relationships between microeconomics and macroeconomics. These skills will allow you to understand and analyse data, think critically about issues and make informed decisions. Through this process, you will learn to build upon quantitative skills and appreciate that, when evaluating arguments, qualitative and quantitative evidence are important. This course teaches Markets and Market Failure, National and International Economy, and Economic Principles and Issues. From experience, we have found that students who obtain an A.P.S. score of less than 6.0+ at GCSE, go on to struggle with the demand and content of Economics A-Level.
