Assessment

The A-level exam involves three components: Language, the individual, and society; (exam) 40% Language diversity and change; (exam 40%) Language in action. Non exam assessment (20%). Year 13 builds on the knowledge acquired in Year 12. We look at how we acquire language and the debates surrounding this. We also study language diversity and changing attitudes and opinions towards language. The Non-Exam Assessment is an independent piece of work; students choose their area of investigation with guidance from their teacher.
