Course summary

Biology involves the study of a wide range of exciting topics ranging from molecular biology to the study of ecosystems. Biology is never far from the headlines: the human genome has been sequenced, the ability to prevent ageing or the development of transplant surgery. Biologists are concerned with a variety of issues and work in the field of cell biology, medicine, food production and ecology and the work they do is vital to us all for our wellbeing and survival. Year 12 Module 1 – Development of practical skills in biology These practical skills will be assessed in the written exam and practical endorsement.
