Paper 1: 2 hours – 85 marks – 34% of A-level marks. Questions: 60 marks of short and long answer questions and 25 multiple choice questions on Year 1 content and Periodic motion from Further Mechanics. Paper 2: 2 hours – 85 marks – 34% of A-level marks. Questions: 60 marks of short and long answer questions and 25 multiple choice questions on Year 2 content (with Year 1 assumed). Paper 3: 2 hours – 80 marks – 32% of A-level marks. Questions: 45 marks of short and long answer questions on practical experiments and data analysis. 35 marks of short and long answer questions on the optional topic (Turning Points). 40% of the questions overall will include mathematics at the level of GCSE Mathematics higher papers, which is why we expect at least grade 6 in that GCSE subject.
