Assessment

A level is a two-year course. The personal Portfolio is worth 60% and the Externally Set Assignment is worth 40% of your total mark. Each assignment consists of two parts: Preparatory Supporting Studies - You are expected to complete an annotated sketchbook displaying your prep work. For your Personal Portfolio, you will also complete a 3000-word personal study linked to your artists. Final Piece - This consists of a timed element under controlled conditions where you will be producing your own work in response to the theme.
