Course summary

Physics aims to describe and explain the universe. Topics covered draw on everything from the ideas of Newton and Einstein to contemporary theories of particles and astrophysics. You will study the content using a variety of methods including experimental work, problem-solving, and use of computers. Most of all, the aim is to make Physics relevant and interesting. Anyone with strong maths skills and an interest in how and why things work will enjoy this subject. You will develop the ability to: • Perform experiments safely and accurately. • Present, analyse and evaluate data in order to confirm theories and ideas. • Use mathematical models to represent ideas in Physics. • Solve mathematical problems. • Use and apply scientific vocabulary. • Work independently or in a group. • Use Excel and data logging software.
