This is a 2-year course that will allow you to further develop skills in using mathematical language, logical thinking, and problem-solving. In addition, topics from Statistics and Mechanics look at the application of maths in the real world. • Pure Mathematics - Algebra, Geometry, Sequences and Series, Exponentials and logarithms, Trigonometry, Calculus, Proof • Mechanics - Quantities and units in Mechanics, Vectors, Kinematics, Forces and Newton’s Laws, Moments • Statistics - Statistical sampling, distributions, and hypothesis testing, Data presentation and interpretation, Probability Why Take This Course? • There are many reasons for choosing Mathematics A-Level, here are just a few: • It is a versatile subject, as it will provide you with transferable skills in numeracy, logic, and problem solving, all highly desirable for future study or employment. • It is seen as a facilitating subject, as it will complement and help you with other A-level subjects (for example Physics Chemistry, Psychology, Economics, Business Studies, and Geography). • It is often a requirement for university studies in courses related to the above A-Levels (as well as engineering, architecture, computing – it is even an ideal subject for those wishing to study Medicine). • You enjoy Maths!
