Assessment

Learners will complete four Units over the two-year course 1. Anatomy and Physiology (assessed with a written exam), 2. Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport, and Well-being (externally marked controlled assessment), 3. Professional Development in the sports industry (internally assessed coursework). 4. and Sports Psychology (internally assessed coursework). Each module of work is graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction. Gaining an overall Pass from the BTEC Extended Certificate in Sport is worth 16 points on the new UCAS tariff, equivalent to an E grade at the ‘A’ Level. A Merit is worth 32 points, equal to an A-Level C grade. A Distinction is worth 48 points or an A-Level A grade, finally a Distinction * is worth 56 UCAS points.
