Assessment

Over the two years, students need to complete four units. Unit 4 and Unit 10 will require students to plan and produce a short film. Students will be expected to develop their knowledge and understanding of the film production process by way of some initial modeling tasks before starting these units in year 12. Students will take a practical exam (Unit 8) at the end of year 12 which will draw on the students' understanding of the film production process. Unit 1, which will be sat as an examined paper in year 13, requires learners to consider how different media representations are constructed by media producers to create meaning, messages, and values, this will require students to look at a range of media products including film, TV, radio and magazines.
