Course summary

The aim of this course is to develop young filmmakers who strive for excellence and originality in their work. Students will be expected to develop the skills required in the Film production life cycle, including an understanding and ability to apply varying research techniques, communication and planning skills, technical skills such as the ability to use film and sound recording equipment, an understanding of different shots and angles used in film, creative skills and the ability to edit to a high standard. In so doing, students will achieve academically and develop skills and a passion that they will carry forward into many different aspects of their lives. You will enjoy this course if you wish to develop: – Skills and knowledge relevant to a particular media sector in particular film – An understanding of professional practice in the media industry – An appreciation of the way the media industry is structured and how it works – A show-reel or portfolio of work
