Course summary
This qualification is designed to support progression into the Health, Fitness and Wellbeing sector as well as preparing students for higher education as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. The multi-faceted nature of Sport is covered in this vocational course, including aspects of Anatomy & Physiology, Fitness training and Programming, professional Development in the Sports Industry and Sports Leadership. WHAT WILL I STUDY? Students will cover 360 hours of guided learning equivalent to one A Level. Students will complete 4 units, 3 of which are mandatory and 2 being externally assessed. Mandatory Units: • Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology [External exam] • Unit 2: Fitness Training & Programming for Health, Sport & Wellbeing [External exam] • Unit 3: Professional Development in the Sports Industry [Internal] Optional Unit: • Unit 4: Sports Leadership [Internal]
