Three Written Papers and one Non-Examined Assessment (Practical Performance) Paper 1 – Physiological Factors Affecting Performance Written Paper, 2 hours; 90 marks 30% of total A-Level - Applied anatomy and physiology - Exercise physiology - Biomechanics Paper 2 – Psychological Factors Affecting Performance Written Paper, 1 hour; 60 marks 20% of total A-Level - Skill Acquisition - Sports Psychology The qualification looks to equip students for H.E. or the world of work. Paper 3: Sociocultural Issues in Physical Activity and Sport Written Paper, 1 hour; 20% of total A-Level 60 marks. - Sport and society - Contemporary issues in physical activity and sport Non exam assessment (NEA): Performance in Physical Education How it is assessed: Internal assessment with external moderation. 60 Marks; 30% of total A-level - Performance or Coaching - Evaluation and Analysis of Performance for Improvement (EAPI) - Students are assessed as a performer or coach in the full-sided version of one activity There is a synoptic element to the assessment of A-Level Physical Education and this will be assessed in each component.
