Assessment

Our Art & Design (Fine Art, BTEC) course is comprised of four assessments, two of which are internally assessed, and two of which are externally assessed. • Unit 1: Visual Recording & Communication (Externally assessed) This unit involves the investigation, exploration and experimentation of a wide range of visual recording materials, and methods to express and communicate their ideas on a given theme. • Unit 2: Critical & Contextual Studies in Art & Design (Externally assessed) This unit involves the development of contextual research and critical analysis skills. Students will investigate the contextual influences on practitioners that drive and underpin their work. You will learn how to critically analyse pieces of art and design work, deconstructing images and thinking critically about what you see. • Fine Art Materials, Techniques & Processes (Internally assessed) • The Creative Process (Internally assessed)
