Assessment
Throughout the 2-year course the emphasis is on learning about new materials and exploring techniques. In Year 12, you will undertake a series of investigations in the form of two projects (fashion construction and a personal theme project). Themes are open ended to allow students to develop their own creative pathways. In the second year, students are expected to work much more independently and work may well be based on experiences and interests developed in the first year of the course. You will be required to produce an extended unit of study, accompanied by a written essay to support their practical investigations. Coursework is worth 60% of the overall grade and the examination is worth 40%. Throughout the course students will be continually assessed through various forms. At the end of Year 13 students will sit a 15-hour practical examination.
