It is suited to: Post-16 students who enjoy practical, active learning alongside classroom study. Learners aiming to progress into careers in sports coaching, fitness, teaching, leisure, or sports development. Students who like a mix of theory and practical application, covering topics such as anatomy, physiology, coaching, health, fitness, and the wider sports industry. People who are passionate about working with others, promoting healthy lifestyles, and improving performance in sport and physical activity. In short, this course is ideal for anyone who enjoys being active, wants to deepen their understanding of sport and exercise, and is considering a future career in the sport, health, or fitness industries. The qualification has three mandatory units covering the following topics: Body systems and the effects of physical activity Sports coaching and activity leadership Sports Organisation and development. Students have a choice of 2 optional units covering the following topics: Organisation of Sports Events Practical Skills in Sports and Physical activities Nutrition and Diet for Sports and Exercise Sports and Exercise Psychology Sports and Exercise Sociology Performance analysis in Sports and Exercise
