Course summary
The CTEC Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts course inspires students to become independent theatre makers with the skills that they need to go on to higher education and employment, whether in drama, theatre or any other field. Students learn through experience, seeing theatre, making theatre and working with professionals in the field. Students are introduced to a wide range of styles and contexts as they explore plays practically, devise work, learn new skills and develop full public performances. Students can choose to study the following pathways: Acting Dance Music Musical Theatre Technical Theatre (lighting and stage management) Theatre Design (costume and set) Whichever option they choose, students will gain invaluable skills, both theatrical and transferable, to expand their horizons.
