Music Performance

Course summary

During Music Performance lessons you will develop your skills as a practical musician and the knowledge to use those skills. This will be done through a combination of teacher led lessons, workshops and independent practice (as part of a band and individually). Students are encouraged to create an attitude of self-reflection which aids their continuing development as a musician. Lessons will consist of practical workshops, playing in bands, teacher presentations/lectures, planning meetings, discussions, internet based research and solo practice, and a lot of self reflection and doing musical things that you can’t already do. Students who have studied music at KHS have taken up careers in various music disciplines including: live sound in theatres, recording engineering, composing music for film, class teaching, instrumental teaching, radio production, composing music for adverts and arts administration. Others have become professional musicians and written songs for Rihanna.
