Course summary

GCSE PE is an exciting, academic and practical subject. It provides theoretical knowledge of many aspects to do with sport in today’s society and will allow students to improve their practical skills, in a variety of team and individual sports. PE Coursework (practical): Students’ marks come from three activities, chosen from the following groups. Students must choose one Team Sport and one Individual Sport, and their third choice can be from either group. Students must be competing at a high level and representing the school, in at least one team or individual sport: Team Sports - Acrobatic Gymnastics - Association Football - Badminton - Basketball - Carnogie (cannot be assessed with hurling) - Cricket - Dance - Figure Skating - Futsal - Gaelic Football - Handball - Hockey - Hurling - Ice Hockey - In Line Roller Hockey - Lacrosse - Netball - Rowing - Rugby League/Union - Sailing - Sculling - Squash - Table Tennis - Tennis - Volleyball - Water Polo Individual Sports - Amateur Boxing - Athletics - Badminton - Canoeing/Kayaking (Slalom or Sprint) - Cycling - Dance (can only be used once) - Diving (Platform Diving) - Equestrian - Figure Skating - Golf - Gymnastics (floor and apparatus only) - Kayaking (cannot be assessed with canoeing/rowing/sculling) - Rock Climbing (indoor or outdoor) - Sailing - Sculling - Skiing (indoor/outdoor on snow - no dry slopes) - Snowboarding (cannot be assessed with skiing) - Squash - Swimming - Table Tennis - Tennis - Trampolining - Rowing (only used for one activity) - Windsurfing Who should I speak to about this subject?
